white family history

From humble beginnings to a proud heritage — this is our story.

More than 100 years ago, Ray White established a real estate firm that would go on to become Australia’s largest residential agency, with over 1,000 offices around the world – in New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Indonesia and India as well as Australia.

If you travel to Crows Nest, a small town in the Darling Downs 132km west of Brisbane, you can still see the original shed where Ray began his auction business in 1902. From humble beginnings selling pigs, grain and farming equipment, Ray’s business evolved into property and real estate, mortgages through Loan Market, and property management through its Apmasphere platform.

Ray’s grandson, Brian, was central in the development of Richard Ellis in Australia, and went on to become the inaugural chairman of CBRE in Australasia.

Since 2001, Ray’s great-grandson Dan White has led the family’s specialist investment and advisory firm, now called White & Partners.

We’re proud to be part of this fourth generation family business, and to contribute our own market knowledge and commercial insights to the family and its connections. White & Partners has the heritage, scale and international reach you can depend on.
